Check Out: Metallica – “Just A Bullet Away”
consequenceofsound.netEarlier this week, we brought you an unreleased demo from Metallica’s Death Magnetic sessions. Here’s another. As Blabbermouth points out, a track titled “Just A Bullet Away” was recently emailed to members of the band’s fan…
Rihanna’s ‘You Da One’: Listen To Single Debut
Along with her voice, physique and trailblazing sense of style, one of Rihanna’s most impressive attributes is her ability to straddle the line between badass and sweetheart.
There’s the whips and chains “S&M” Rihanna, who fires cannons in music videos and the upcoming big budget blockbuster film, “Battleship.” Then there’s troubled Rihanna, whom we see in the drug-addled “We Found Love” video. And finally, the sweet, love song singing Rihanna, as we hear in her new single, “You Da One.”
The second track off her upcoming album, “Talk That Talk,” the song has hit the web — and you can listen to it here.
Rihanna - Cockiness (Love It)
♫ “I love it, I love it I love it when you eat it”
This song, “you da one” & “we found love” are the only songs i like from Rihanna’s Talk That Talk
The Roc is in the building. Jay-Z and Rihanna combine forces once again on the title track from RiRi’s sixth album Talk That Talk, produced by Stargate and written by Ester Dean. Mr. Carter does it way big on his intro verse (“I’m flying out to Pisa just to get some pizza”), while RiRi adds a feminine touch to the aggressive beat.
“‘Talk That Talk’ is a mid-tempo banger with hard drums, dirty synths, and Rihanna and Jay at their best,” said Stargate’s Tor Erik Hermansen. “We are very happy with the song and Jay’s verse is crazy—same with Rihanna’s part.”
How does “Talk That Talk” stack up to the Roc stars’ previous hit collaborations, “Umbrella” and “Run This Town”? Listen and weigh in with your thoughts.

Drake Pushes “Take Care” Back to November & Reveals Why
Drakes new album “Take Care” was supposed to be released on October 24th. Which is Drake’s birthday. However Drake has now decided to push it back to November 15th. The main reason behind it all is to do with clearingsamples, which can take a long time! Check out what he said to say about it on his own OVO Blog. The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week…see you all soon. I Personally think that this is a wise choice Drake could make. Not because of the Clearing samples but because I ain’t feeling this era AT ALL. However something doesn’t seem right. 3 Weeks before the album date and he has decided to push it back? We shall see how things go. Drake should probably release another song or video to keep fans satisfied in the long run! Or probably get a haircut.

ROYCE DA 5’9″ – SUCCESS IS CERTAIN
Say what you will about Royce Da 5’9″, the proud Detroit rapper is easily one of the industry’s most confident MCs, even if his spotty discography says otherwise. As a member of Slaughterhouse, he’s one-fourth of a hardcore collective, injecting twisted humor and sadistic thoughts into a dense array of dark production. On his own, Royce is a little more relaxed, still peppering his verses with sophisticated metaphors and notable punchlines, although the message is slightly less abrasive.
He’s also very candid: “Roller coaster of a career/Hope it’s been real for you, cause it’s been weird for me,” Royce rhymes on the reflective “I’ve Been Up I’ve Been Down”, the concluding song to Success Is Certain. And Royce doesn’t shy away from the past, whether he’s addressing previous disagreements with Eminem and D12, or interacting with fans on his active Twitter feed. What you see is what you get, and you won’t always like the visual. Still, you can’t help but take a listen.
Such is the dilemma of Royce’s new album, an efficient, yet uneven one that showcases his undeniable flair for clever vernacular. Punch lines aside, some of these songs have interesting concepts, while others are questionable at best. ”Security”, meant as a dedication to slain rapper Proof, is a clunky stab at reflective storytelling and totally misses the mark. “My Own Planet”, featuring Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden, has potential as a lyrically potent girl track, yet it struggles with a synth-heavy, Prince-influenced ’80s pop beat.
On “ER”, however, Royce and frequent collaborator Kid Vishis compare hip-hop to a patient in emergency surgery. Here, Vishis raps: “Miss me wit the skinny jeans and Uggs/Fuck outta here, I ain’t feelin’ you.” Meanwhile, “Writer’s Block”, featuring Eminem on the hook, is sarcastic and playful, exploring the concept of writer’s block over glitzy percussion. In the end though, the product feels like an unfocused collection of songs, hampered somewhat by shoddy production that fails to emphasize the MC’s shining moments, leaving one to question what could have been if Royce had a stronger soundtrack. There’s some resemblance of a decent album in there, buried underneath the flashy references and charming insults.

Chip Tha Ripper‘s last album, Gift Raps, rocked me back on my heels a little bit with all those hard hitting beats and raw raps. It looks like we won’t have to wait much longer for the follow up, as the Cleveland emcee leaked a new joint, “Realer,” this past weekend via his tumblr. Looking like a really real day so far.
Amy Winehouse And Tony Bennett Record “Body & Soul” (Video)
The last recorded footage of Amy Winehouse before her unfortunate death was a studio session with the legendary Tony Bennett. The duo came together at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London to record their collabo, “Body Soul.” The song will appear on Tony Bennett’s upcoming compilation album Tony Bennett: Duets II due out September 20. Fans can purchase the song and video via iTunes on September 14th (Amy’s birthday) with proceeds going to The Amy Winehouse Foundation. Above, watch footage of their recording session as Amy explains the once in a lifetime moment recording with the jazz great. Props to Complex
New Music: David Guetta ft. Lil Wayne & Chris Brown “I Can Only Imagine” (viaNahRight) I’m not so crazy about this one. It just sounds like sound effects to me, like where’s the groove? I think a remix might change my mind though. Look out for this to make Guetta’s forthcoming album, Nothing but the Beat on August 29th.
